E.ON Romania is an important player and supplier of renewable energy on the Romanian energy market. It provides natural gas and electricity supply services for various consumers, currently having a number of approximately 3.1 million customers from over 1,000 localities in Romania
Since 2005, E.ON Romania has supported many social responsibility projects in the communities in which it operates, with over 14 million euros involved in this endeavor and with a total of 310,000 beneficiaries. In this regard, one of the company's initiatives is a campaign named "Give light", which has reached its seventh edition being an example of E.ON Romania's involvement in the life of local communities. The "Give Light" project started from the desire to bring together people who want to help other people, romanians who believe that things change when they choose to get directly involved.
The campaign took place on 1st – 20th of April and aimed to help household consumers going through a difficult period in the context of the epidemic - Covid 19, thus contributing to stimulating social involvement and solidarity with people in difficulties. The campaign took place online, on social platforms, where anyone can send a message to the organizers with the story of their acquaintances they know to need help during this period and each story will be rewarded with a contribution of 100 kWh for the nominee. The amount donated will be subsequently deducted from the invoices of each beneficiary.
So far, together with the consumers, E.ON has contributed 1,000,000 kWh for those who need help and they want to continue to give hope to those in need.
