The European Maritime Day is the annual EU meeting point on maritime affairs and blue growth. It targets maritime professionals, entrepreneurs and ocean leaders from businesses, governments, public institutions, NGOs and academia. Stakeholders will find the European Maritime Day a great opportunity to touch base with strategic partners, to make new contacts, get visibility for projects, activities and achievements, gain new insights into the evolving EU policy and funding landscape and provide input into European Maritime Policy formulation.

This year the EMD will take place on May 16th – 17th 2019 at the Lisbon Congress Centre in Portugal and the focus will be on blue entrepreneurship, innovation and investment to transform traditional maritime sectors and boost emerging technologies and value chains. Interesting for CHERISH is the workshop on sustainable tourism and coastal communities. Besides an interesting programme with plenary sessions and thematic workshops, the EMD will offer great networking opportunities via matchmaking meetings and of course at the exhibition booths.

For more information about the programme, the workshops on various interesting topics, the venue and the possibility to register for the European Maritime Day 2019, please visit: ec.europa.eu/maritimeaffairs/maritimeday/en/en/lisbon-2019.

CHERISH will be present, showcasing the CHERISH project at the exhibition. We are looking forward to meeting you in the exhibition hall for inspiring discussions about cultural heritage in fishing communities and regional development policies during the two days!
