On January 30th, the CHERISH Steering Committee meeting was held in Rostock, Germany. Hosted by EUCC-D, advisory partner in the project, the meeting gave all the partners the opportunity to discuss the progress made so far and to think about how to best prepare for the upcoming period.

During this intensive day, CHERISH partners mainly concentrated on the best practices analysed during the last ILEEEs. The good practices observed so far, reflect innovative and sustainable ways of integrating and preserving the heritage of fishing communities in different sectors such as gastronomy, tourism, research and social projects. For all the partners, the challenge is now to find a way to transfer and integrate those experiences in their own regions.

Other topics such as stakeholder involvement, the communication and the work plans, reporting issues and the planning of future events were also on the agenda.

Last but not least, the photo exhibition related to the photo competition held in summer was also presented to the partners. We are looking forward to have it displayed in our partner regions starting with the opening ceremony in Mallorca, during our next ILEEE in April!
