AGENEAL has hosted the Study Visit to Almada, held on the 17th of April, in which participated 5 delegations: Slovenia, Ireland, Germany, Poland and France.

In the morning, the agenda of the event included a site visit to a social housing multiapartment building, located in Caparica Parish and owned by the Municipality of Almada, that has been refurbished in order to improve its energy performance. The introduced energy efficiency measures resulted in significant energy and CO2 savings. Likewise, the comfort perceived of the residents as increased significantly and the number of discomfort situations has decreased dramatically.

During the afternoon the participants learned about Almada Less Carbon Climate Fund, which is aimed at reducing Almada’s carbon footprint by financing energy efficiency and renewable energy investments. And also, the telemanagement system for the public lighting in Almada. The Study Visit concluded with a site visit to one of the streets covered by this intelligent street lighting system and the participants have experienced its operation in real time.
