Within the framework of the ENHANCE project, a number of regulatory and economic measures have been prepared in the last four years in Estonia in cooperation with SEI Tallinn, the Ministry of the Environment, the Estonian Environmental Management Association and other stakeholders to motivate Estonian companies and organizations to implement EMAS. To date, some of the measures have been implemented at the initiative of the Ministry of the Environment to improve the policy instruments supporting EMAS. As a result, interest in implementing EMAS has grown exponentially. At the same time, the implementation of EMAS has raised a number of issues for the parties.
On 11 September, a final high-level dissemination event of ENHANCE was held in Estonia in the form of webinar, during which a brief overview of the current state of implementation of the Estonian towards EMAS action plan and further steps were presented. In addition, possible actions and approaches were discussed with the parties to facilitate the implementation of EMAS and the compliance of its verification process .
