City of Oulu and Nokia host together the world’s biggest virtual company visit day on 5th of May 2022. The event introduces Nokia to the future and current talents of the world. The day is designed from a learning perspective and has content for people of all ages. The day covers all school levels from early childhood education to university level. The main language of the event if Finnish, but one of the sessions (higher education & international talent at 16:00-16:45) will be organized in English.
The need for this kind of event has arisen from two directions, which are the working life and education. ICT-sector on the Oulu-level but also on global level is rapidly growing, and even more professionals in different roles are needed in the future. The need to encourage people to recognize opportunities in the sector is evident. Different skill sets can be used in the technological world of work. In the other end there are schools which want to prepare their students for the working life and give them ideas and offer opportunities to design their future. The world’s biggest virtual company visit answers this need by offering the company an opportunity to showcase itself to different age groups of students. The schools have an easy access content to support their work with the curriculum and bring working life closer to students.
During the day, the participants will take a closer look into Nokia's Oulu unit. The participants get to know how Nokia’s solutions impact our everyday lives, what kind of professions and professionals Nokia has, and how does a working day at Nokia look like. Through the stories of various people at Nokia, the participants will learn what kind of skills Nokia needs, and what study choices can lead to work at Nokia.
Event is free of charge and open for everyone. Majority of the program is in Finnish, but one session is organized in English. The event will be held on an online platform. The participation link will be sent to registrants prior to the event. Participants do not need a microphone nor camera.

Duration of the visits is 45 minutes and visiting times for different age groups can be found below. Sessions’ language is Finnish except for the final session, which is for higher education and international talents.
• 8:30-9:15 Grades 1 & 2 (Session in Finnish)
• 9:30-10:15 Early childhood education & pre-school (Session in Finnish)
• 10:30-11:15 Grades 3 to 6 (Session in Finnish)
• 12:30-13:15 Grades 7 to 9 (Session in Finnish)
• 13:30-14:15 Vocational education (Session in Finnish)
• 14:30-15:15 High school (Session in Finnish)
• 16:00-16:45 Higher education & international talent (Session in English)
