Health and assistance: stakeholder’s meeting in the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region

The last stakeholder event of the "ITHACA - InnovaTion in Health And Care for All" project, dedicated to stakeholders in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, was organised virtually on 26 September 2022.

The first part of the meeting saw the presentation of the activities implemented during the course of the project and the results of the recent survey carried out on good practices and significant examples of innovative services and products, developed during the COVID-19 pandemic in the sector of health and assistance, also with regard to digitalization.

During 2022, in fact, the partners shared with their territories a learning process about the innovative solutions tested to respond to the pandemic. Stakeholders also discussed what emerged in the final event of the project, held in July 2022 in Mannheim, Germany. In particular, the importance of capitalizing on the best experiences in terms of health, assistance and digitalization gained during the pandemic.

During the event the Regional Administration illustrated the main regional strategies for the health sector in terms of research and innovation as well, looking at the new programming period. A particular focus was made on policies to support active ageing, as the regional Smart Specialisation Strategy (which envisaged a specific area with some trajectories devoted to Health), the regional Plan to support the elderly and frail population 2021-2023 and the three-year Program of interventions planned for the three-year period 2022-2024 to combat loneliness and the promotion of active ageing.

Besides, the renewed regional portal dedicated to active ageing was presented too. The elaboration of the portal envisages a multidisciplinary approach, involving the Central Directorates responsible for the various regional policies and at the same time the stakeholders of territorial interest, and aims to involve citizens to effectively pursue ageing in good health, also through prevention policies and interventions at all stages of life.

Lastly, the event was also an occasion to discuss about the development of ecosystems for smart health for the future, looking at positive experiences of other EU funded projects such as ACSELL – “Accelerating SmE innovation capacities with a Living Lab approach".
