On the 30th of June, MOMAr’s partner Province of Groningen organised a tour on location at the beautiful historic church of Klein Wetsinge, not only the building but also the quality of the complete cultural landscape it sits in makes this a unique setting.
Stakeholders and colleagues from the Province of Groningen were invited to get informed about the state of the MOMAr project and to learn about the Good Practices exchanged during the three International Exchange of Experiences meetings in ’20 and ’21. From this, assistants talked about the undermanagement of heritage and discussed potential points of interest on which they can further develop action plans in the Groningen region.
The stakeholders came from the Groningen Historic Churches Foundation (SOGK), Museum aan de A, the Hanze University of Applied Sciences, local Waterboard of Noorderzijlvest, and Libau -independent advisory committee for spatial quality and cultural heritage in the provinces of Groningen and Drenthe. Together with professionals in culture, heritage, landscape, and spatial quality from the Province of Groningen they addressed several topics. Education programs and restoration skills for preservation, reuse and further development of build heritage received a lot of attention, as well as the potential profits for the region from recreational and educational route networks and region marketing. The added value from digitalisation and visualisation by new technologies like 3D projections were also mentioned.
