Ministry for Regional Development and Transport of Saxony-Anhalt met this December with its stakeholder, Transromanica, to assess the potential of cultural tourism and cultural education for the action plan of Saxony-Anhalt.
Annemarie Schmidt, assistant to the management of TRANSROMANICA, Frank Thäger, Deputy Head of Department for Regional Development Planning and European Spatial Development from the Ministry of Saxony-Anhalt and Lucas Fenger, MOMAr project manager from the Ministry of Saxony-Anhalt discussed the involvement of stakeholders from associations, schools and cultural education and its great influence on the quality and thus the attractiveness of the cultural tourism offer in the region.
The attendees concluded about the great potential for improving the management and marketing of the natural and cultural heritage in rural areas. On this matter, one measure to take into account would be the integration and offer of extracurricular learning places in the cultural heritage sites in rural areas. An example from Germany is the extracurricular learning place in the Imperial cathedral in Königslutter (Lower Saxony).
