This month of July, the MOMAr partner organisation from Germany, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Digital Affairs of Saxony-Anhalt, celebrated a MOMAr Tour to Haldensleben. A total of 9 participants could discover the “House of the Forest”, located in the Castle Hundisburg and surrounded by rural areas.

The Investment and Marketing Company of Saxony-Anhalt, represented by Martin Fricke, and the World Heritage Region of Anhalt-Dessau-Wittenberg, represented by Anika Kinnemann, gave updates on their two projects in presentations and exchanged ideas with the participating experts on cultural and natural heritage management in the “House of the Forest”. The participants also visited the children's museum of the site which serves for education about the natural heritage of the area.

The Investment and Marketing Company of Saxony-Anhalt also gave an update on the SAINT project, an open data project aiming to improve the digitization of tourism in Saxony-Anhalt through an online tourism platform. The main goal is to enable the population to get the best possible overview of the region’s cultural and natural heritage sites in a digital way. For its part, the World Heritage Region Anhalt-Dessau-Wittenberg gave an update on its World Heritage Card, which can be purchased digitally for all tourists and locals and which represents an important contribution to the approach of sustainability. Since 2022, 125 cultural and natural heritage sites in Saxony-Anhalt have been more easily accessible through the World Heritage Card.

Overall, this MOMAr Tour in Saxony-Anhalt was a great opportunity for all the participants to check the progress of these projects, and to exchange new ideas and knowledge about heritage management.
