In 2017, the Province of Groningen (the Netherlands), MOMAr’s partner, started to work with the Programme Heritage, Spatial Quality and Landscape (ERL) and in 2019, they were fortunate to get the opportunity to join MOMAr and gave the Programme an international aspect. The Province of Groningen and local stakeholders from area management organizations, the regional advisory committee for spatial quality and the Groningen historic churches foundation had 5 individual meetings to discuss diverse topics. Then a larger group of stakeholders were invited to 3 meetings as well.
The meetings
All meetings had the aim to inform the stakeholders about MOMAr’s and ERL policy’s, project plan, goals, project management and planning. They gather the fields of interest from all the stakeholders according to management models of singular rural heritage. And discussed good and challenging practices for the Province of Groningen and new partners and practices which can be involved in MOMAr.
Accordingly, to the project coordinator, Janneke Verdijk, the overall conclusion for the stakeholder meetings was “establishing their motive to participate, goals, project management and planning inspiring a big commitment to MOMAr’s project”.
