The NICHE project Staff Exchange in Tartu, Estonia was held in 20th-22nd April 2017.
During the staff exchange, the project partners and their stakeholders visited Rural Fair (fair “Maamess” http://maamess.ee/indexENG.php ). Also, there were interesting company site visits to the Bio-Competence Centre of Healthy Dairy Products LLC (interdisciplinary R&D and services in agriculture, food science and medicine) http://tptak.ee/en/, A Le Coq (drinks manufacture) http://www.alecoq.ee/en/, SirLoin (organic meat products) http://sirloin.ee/en/, SPARK Demo (business card of South-Estonia) www.sparkdemo.ee, Salvest (soups, cabbages, sauces, salads, jams, drinks) http://www.salvest.ee/en/ and there were presentations from the Polli Horticultural Research Centre http://polli.emu.ee/en/ and Andre Farm (dairy farm, cheese) andrefarm.ee/en/ .
The mix of visits to companies and presentations was planned on the bases of interest of the stakeholders attending the event so that there could be many new contacts. At the company site visits and meetings there were many discussions about different experiences and cooperation possibilities between companies and regions.
The staff exchange participants were:
- Northern Ireland entrepreneurs from Corndale Farm http://www.corndalefarm.com/ and Tamnagh Foods http://www.tamnaghfoods.com/;
- A Finland entrepreneur from Laidun Hereford, meat producer http://www.laidunhereford.fi/ , also City of Kauhajoki http://www.ruokamessut.fi/fi/yhteystiedot.link and Regional Council of South Ostrobothnia http://www.epliitto.fi/frontpage representatives;
- Romania University of Agricultural Studies in Timisoara https://usab-tm.ro/index.php?lb=en and Regional Development Agency of the West Regional Romania http://www.regiuneavest.ro/en/services-of-west-rda/ representatives.
It was a fruitful interregional interaction and there might be some interesting business cooperation between our stakeholders in the future.
