Facts about the Podkarpackie Voivodeship and RRDA

As you already know, on 8 and 9 June 2021, we run an online meeting, where Good Practices regarding entrepreneurial incubation were discussed. As you also know, the meeting was opened with the fantastic presentation of our Lead Partner, who gave us an overview of the past and future activities regarding the project's implementation. In the next part, the Communication Manager of the OSS Project - Mr. Marek Duda - presented the information about Podkarpackie Voivodeship and the activity of the Agency.
Podkarpackie Province is located in south-eastern Poland and borders on the east with Ukraine and on the south with Slovakia. The capital of the voivodeship is Rzeszów. Podkarpackie covers an area of over 17,800 km². The voivodeship is an agricultural and industrial region. The industry structure is dominated by the aviation, electromechanical, chemical and food industries. The glass, building materials, wood and light industries also play an important role. They use a variety of raw materials in the region: natural gas, crude oil, limestone, gypsum and natural aggregates. The rich resources of healing waters are used in the health resorts.
There are two special economic zones in the voivodeship: Tarnobrzeg Special Economic Zone "Euro-Park Wisłosan" and Special Economic Zone "Euro-Park" Mielec. The advantage of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship is the location of the center of the Polish aviation industry operating under the name "Aviation Valley".
The Rzeszów Regional Development Agency was established by a notarial deed on May 31, 1993 in the form of a joint stock company. The aim of RRDA is to conduct activities aimed at the comprehensive development of the Podkarpacie region by concentrating and mobilizing the potential of local communities as well as advisory and service activities in the processes of restructuring, opening and supporting economic ventures, promoting the region and acquiring foreign aid funds.
