Anterp is a city in Belgium, and is the capital of Antwerp province in Flanders. With a population of 520,504 it is the most populous city proper in Belgium. Antwerp is on the River Scheldt, linked to the North Sea by the Westerschelde estuary. The Port of Antwerp is one of the biggest in the world.
Artesis Plantijn Hogeschool Antwerpen represents that region in our OSS project. AP UAS, with about 11.000 students in 4 departments and 2 schools of Arts, is situated in the heart of Antwerp, the most entrepreneurial of Belgian cities. Flanders has an ecosystem for entrepreneurial students in every large student city, and thus also in Antwerp. The Antwerp ecosystem is called TAKE OFF ANTWERP ALLIANCE.
Within this framework, the city of Antwerpcollaborates with the main higher educational institutions (AP, KdG, HogereZeevaartschool, University of Antwerp), the youth organisation KAVKA, the students’ association SINC, the organisation of entrepreneurs VOKA (chamber of commerce) and with various local companies and organisations in order to inform and coach young entrepreneurs and making them more resilient in the market. They jointly work as TAKEOFFANTWERP_ALLIANCE (in short TOA_A), an Antwerp collaborative agreement, that aims at creating a wide entrepreneurial context for all youngsters.
Their experiences in the ecosystem of TAKE OFF ANTWERP ALLIANCE gives them the expertise to act as Advisory Partner in the OSS interreg project.
