On 25 March 2020 - Interreg Europe- ran a Webinar where they gave some tips, how to run an online meeting effectively and effectively. In an actual situation, many companies are forced to run such a type of meeting even though it wasn't their style of work till now.
The whole Webinar you may watch here, so feel free to see it.
They also presented so useful tools that may be used for running such a meeting. Now I'd like to give you some info about some of them that may be used for free.
Tools for running online meetings
Skype
I guess, there's no person in the world who doesn't know this tool. Skype allows you to make free voice calls and observe the interlocutor through a webcam, as well as paid calls to landline or mobile phone owners using VoIP (Voice over IP) technology. SkypeOut service. In addition, Skype offers functions for the direct exchange of text information using manually typed messages and file transfer. With it, you can conduct a meeting of up to 50 people, free of charge.
Google Hangouts
The messenger replaced three other Google applications for communication: Google Talk, Google+ Messenger and Hangouts (video chat built into Google+). An active Google account is required to use the application. Thanks to it, you can conduct meetings of up to 10 people.
Jitsi
That may be my favorite tool - free of charge, no account needed - that makes it very easy to use. It is an application for video conferencing, VoIP technology and an instant messenger, available for Windows, Linux and OS X. It supports much popular text and audio protocols. The program is available under the free GNU Lesser General Public License.
Tools for file sharing
WeTransfer
WeTransfer is an online platform for free sending of up to 2 GB files to any number of people. The simple interface of the website makes sharing files and documents with colleagues and friends very simple and extremely efficient. The platform allows access to files for up to two weeks.
Firefox Send
The creators of Firefox Send promise secure transfer of files with end-to-end encryption. Users who do not have an account in the service can attach a maximum of 1 GB of files - after registration, this limit increases to 2.5 GB. What is important - the website allows you to set limits that are to apply to it. These refer to the number of downloads (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 20, 50, 100) or the time when the link will be active (5 minutes, hour, 1 day, week). Optionally, we can also set password protection, which may be additional file protection.
So, these are only a few tools that were presented by Interreg Europe during the Webinar. Of course, they shared lots of important and interesting tips on how to prepare an excellent online meeting. Don't hesitate and watch it now :)
Good luck in your meetings :)
