After the great success of the First Stakeholder Meeting, celebrated during the International Fair Agroexpo, and, attending the demands that request a new debate to encourage the production and use of renewable energies in Extremadura, finally, AGENEX organised 13th February 2020, the Second Local Stakeholder Meeting for AgroRES Project. This event was set in Merida and counting with the collaboration of other European projects.
This new event was attended by 20 assistants from different organizations such as Public Administration, Irrigation Communities, cooperatives and private companies related to renewable energy.
The day started with a presentation by a European technician from Dirección General de Acción Exterior who explained which is the EU growth strategy for the coming years, the objectives established by EU in terms of the fight against climate change, and finally, the different existing European projects, as well as their purpose and how they can benefit SMEs.
After that, a remarkable presentation by a private financial institution tackled the different financing options existent for renewable energy projects.
Having finished the presentations, the debate began analysing and discussing about different actions carried out in Extremadura regarding the renewable energy sector. An intense discussion took place when talking about the grant received from the public inversion, the benefits obtained from these grants and the barriers that still remain to be overcome.
Finished the debate, which was very productive, some objectives were set and will be used in order to focus this second semester work.
