A standard and stable self-consumption regulation, as well as a guarantee fund that supports the investment in this technology, are two of the proposals presented by the Extremadura Energy Agency before the European Parliament.

Agenex participated on February 22 in Brussels in a follow-up session of the Committee on Industry, Transport, Research and Energy (ITRE), organized by the European Parliament in which the implementation of legislative measures have been reviewed of the "Clean Energy for all Europeans" package -also called the Winter Package-, among which are those related to the promotion of self-consumption in buildings.

In his speech, the director of Agenex, Cosme Segador stressed the need to establish a standard legislation on photovoltaic self-consumption to face current legal and administrative barriers as the main impediment to the development of renewable self-consumption.

The defence of a stable regulation in this matter has been one of the main requests to the European parliamentarians for their environmental, economic benefits, value in R & D and generation of employment. In this sense, it has been stressed that the financing of renewable self-consumption is a "remarkable barrier", so Agenex proposes the creation of a guarantee fund to support the financing of these investments in the European Union.

In particular, the Extremadura Energy Agency ensures that many sectors are still committed to self-consumption to reduce their energy costs, despite current difficulties.

Finally, reference was made to the importance of promoting photovoltaic self-consumption technology in the European environment for the development of energy consumption buildings that are almost nil due to their complementarity with electric vehicles and sustainable mobility, as well as their dissemination to the public. domestic consumers to raise awareness about the advantages and savings that can be achieved.
