The annual market of solar panels in Sweden has increased between 50-80% in the last 5 years, according to Ekonomieko since August 2. Johan Lindahl, spokesman for Swedish solar energy, has said that 2018 will be a record year for newly installed solar systems. Babak Tighnavard, CEO of the solar cell company Otovo, said in the same part that this is due to the greater interest in solar energy and partly because the hot and dry summer weather has raised the prices of electricity and has benefited who have already installed the solar cells.

The interest in solar energy is also expected to increase due to the government's decision to abolish the construction license for solar systems
. As of August 1, 2018, you will no longer have to apply for a building permit to install solar panels and solar collectors on buildings in a detailed area, as long as the panels follow the shape of the building, writes

The exemptions apply to buildings that are considered particularly valuable from a historical, cultural, environmental or artistic point of view, as well as to buildings in areas of national interest for total defense.

According to Babak Tighnavard at Ekonomieko since August 2, Sweden has great potential to increase its share of solar energy, since solar energy still represents only less than 1 percent of Sweden's total energy mix, compared to countries like Germany, which has 8 percentage of solar energy.

At the Energy Agency for Southeastern Sweden Sydost we work for a higher proportion of solar energy in the Southeast, including through regional and international Sun associations in Syd, Enerselves and Co2munity.
