The forum for European policy for regional and local authorities and the Sámi parliament meet twice a year. This is a meeting place for the ministries at policy level (state secretary level) and the elected representatives from county authorities (chairman of the county council or mayor as leader of the regional cooperation), municipalities (via the municipal council’s executive board) and the Sámi parliament

The purpose of the forum is to facilitate exchange of information, opinions and experience relating to European policy affairs and problems. The forum agenda contains relevant and important subjects at a local and regional level. The forum meetings are chaired by the state secretaries from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Local Government and Modernisation. For county authorities, dialogue with central authorities is an essential tool for international efforts within the region.

At their meeting 6 June 2019 in Kristiansand, Vest-Agder County Council has been invited to share their experiences from the Hericoast-project and how they work with improving regional policies through interregional exchange of experiences.

It is expected that more than 40 professionals and politicians from the local municipalities, regional county councils and national departments will join the event.
