The need to register coastal heritage in a digital inventory arises partly from a need to engage actively with key stakeholders. Furthermore, the data collected will be used by our policy makers to have an overall picture of the Molise coast and to better manage the policy instrument dedicated.

The region used a methodology for the mapping and description of the territory based on direct meetings, interviews, exploratory walks in the municipalities of the Molise coast together with local inhabitants and other key stakeholders. These insights was combined with scientific territorial analysis and the results was enhanced through the use of video- & audio-recordings.

The registration process involved stakeholders in the different stages of study through thematic meetings and realizing a digitized review of cultural heritage located along the coast and the banks of Biferno river.

The registrations have been made available on the website of molisecoast.com/en/.

The platform enables the region and its stakeholders to access a series of short information, photos and videos designed to provide essential data on the entire coastal heritage of Molise. In such a way, the work enhances communication between Molise Region and their stakeholders on different heritage themes relevant for an improved management.

The Molise Coast portal was created by the “Azienda Autonoma di Soggiorno e Turismo” of Termoli and the Molise Region, with the support of a group of professionals and the active participation of the inhabitants of the coastal area, during the semester 4 of Hericoast project.

It will be presented during next dissemination event, to be held in semester 5.
