Each LCA4Regions partner is organising meetings and events on its territory to share with the local stakeholder the outcomes of the TLJ, reflect on the local situation, and prepare the elaboration of the Action Plans.

To have an idea of what it means exactly and what the discussions with the local stakeholders are, have a look at a summary of some of these meetings.

In May, the Pyhäjärvi Institute gathered nine stakeholders of the Satakunta region – old and new – for the fourth time. Discussions included good practices shared, action plan and the TLJ4 in Slovenia (before it took place). It was a nice opportunity to share feedback on the previous TLJ that took place in Satakunta.

The same month, the Lombardy region stakeholder group met. On the agenda was the presentation of the good practices proposed Green Public Procurement and the concept of the pilot action on Life Cycle Cost (LCC), then under evaluation of the Joint Secretariat. The meeting was the opportunity to present and discuss both a first overview of the regional policy instruments to steer thanks to the project and the idea of embedding the project analysis and results in a piece of UNI legislation. To conclude, the TLJ 4 was introduced together with an overview of the good practices presented by the other partners and with news from the ARCADIA project.

It was also the 4th meeting for the stakeholders in Navarra. In June, they met to discuss life cycle approaches in public procurement. All the experiences learned during the transnational learning journey in Slovenia were transferred. The Purchase Director of the Public Corporation of Companies in Navarra presented several cases of green public purchases and a new tender that is going to launch with a life cycle cost (LCC) inspiration aspect from a Slovenian tender. From the discussion arose that planning and identifying key expenses that can be easily implemented with green criteria are two strategic points. Also, the use of standardized labels or system in tenders. To conclude the meeting, the next topic of the project was presented, training and capacity building on life cycle approach, and the four good practices that Navarra is going to share with the other 6 regions.

In the Lodzkie region, stakeholders tackled the topic of rail transport a couple of days ago. Lodzkie is investing in railways and 2021 is being celebrated as the European Year of Railways. The seminar was thought as an attempt to discuss the potential of railways in the region in terms of energy transition, reduction of harmful emissions, applications for LCA methodologies or, identification of new development directions for rail transport in relation to the development of the Circular Economy.

Similar meetings also took place throughout the semester in Lithuania, Portugal and Slovenia.
