Next week several LCA4Regions partners will join the Life Cycle Summer School, which this year will take place online. This edition - the 9th in the current series - will focus on the theme “Bio-economy and the food life cycle – A life cycle management toolbox for sustainable regional food and biomass”.
The Summer School is an opportunity for the participating partners to discuss how to extend evolving life cycle management tools into new application areas in sustainable development – in this instance in the context of developing a deeper understanding of the bio-economy and food life cycle related issues. For that, they will address the growing interest in the sustainability issues associated with food consumption and production as a means of promoting regional sustainable development. In particular, the Summer School offers to examine the influential role of life cycle methodologies in ensuring the sustainability of bio-economy initiatives and projects that seek to enhance the sustainability of the food sector.
The topic is definitely of high interest for the LCA4Regions project and partners are already looking forward to deepening it. Who knows, maybe some case-studies presented there will catch their interest and later on become a Good Practice!
Cherry on the cake, LCA4Regions' expert Fritz Balkau is co-organising this Summer School and will make sure that the word of LCA4Regions is well spread among all participants!
