Stakeholders were invited to Amokabel located in a small town, Alstermo, in the northeast of Kronoberg. 21 persons joined IRL, and two followed the discussions via Teams meeting. The stakeholders attending represented enterprises and local and regional authorities were keen to take part in the collaboration for the implementation of the Regional Action Plan.
After a welcome by the CEO of Amokabel Jan Blad, including a presentation of the company and its initiatives to improve its production in a more sustainable way, the following sessions concerned the actions in the Regional Action Plan. Pierre Ståhl, Energikontor Sydost, introduced the Plan and a short Swedish version was handed out.
The action: “Create a regional cooperation platform to ensure a robust electrical system in Kronoberg” was presented. A new report on the subject made by Energikontor under the POTEnT project was presented and discussed. Then an external speaker inspired the audience with examples from other parts of Sweden on how actors collaborate to secure the electrical system.
The second action: “Create a Roadmap for green hydrogen in Kronoberg based on electrification commitments” was presented. The participants, many of them partners in the regional network for Hydrogen, detailed their investments and/or plans for their own production and/or use of hydrogen.
The location of the meeting was chosen due to Amokabels investments in renewable electricity production. The company owns a hydro station, two wind turbines and the largest rooftop photovoltaic facility in Kronoberg. They have, in addition, been granted means from a national funding scheme to invest in an electrolyzer for Hydrogen production. The event ended up with a visit to the production facility, where Amokabel produces variants of electrical cables, and to see the Solar PV on the factory roof to inspire the participants to invest in renewable energy.
